How to Tell If a Backlink Is Sending Link Juice

Some links don’t pass ranking authority and some do. In order to see if a link is doing so, we need to find out if it’s a “follow” or “nofollow” link. Follow means it does pass rank juice and nofollow means it does not.

In Chrome, right click on the link you want to investigate and select “Inspect”. In the “Elements” tab you can see the code for the web pages and the code for the link. The link will start with “<a” and end with “</a>”. If you see rel=”nofollow” anywhere between “<a” and end with “</a>” then the link is a nofollow link. If you don’t see anything, then it’s a follow link.
