Local SEO Traffic Estimator

Sometimes you just wanna know how much potential traffic a site could get if its rankings improved. Well now you can with my simple local SEO traffic estimator template. And if you have the sites conversion rate, you can estimate conversions as well. Of course, this template is over-simplifying things but I wanted to make it as easy as possible to get an estimate on potential traffic and conversions.

How to Use It

These are the tabs and columns included in the Google Sheet template.

Website Organic Traffic Estimator

  • Keyword
    • Paste keywords and their volume here. You can get this from many different SEO tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush.
  • Keyword Volume
    • Paste keywords and their volume here. You can get this from many different SEO tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush.
  • Desired Rank
    • Enter a number from 1-10.
  • Estimated CTR
    • CTR can vary greatly depending on each SERP but to keep things simple, I’ve used data is from a 2019 study on click-through-rates by position on Google. You can replace this what other CTR data if you prefer.
    • It’s even better if you use the real CTR from Google Search Console but this takes more work.
  • Potential Clicks
    • This will auto-populate if you filled in Keyword, Keyword Volume and Desired Rank.
  • Conversion Rate
    • Add the current conversion rate here. You can find this in Google Analytics if you have set up goal / conversion tracking.
  • Potential Conversions
    • This will auto-populate if you filled in a Conversion Rate.

Google My Business Traffic Estimator

  • Keyword
    • Paste keywords and their volume here. You can get this from many different SEO tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush.
  • Keyword Volume
    • Paste keywords and their volume here. You can get this from many different SEO tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush.
  • Desired Rank
    • Enter a number from 1-10.
  • Estimated CTR
    • CTR can vary greatly depending on each SERP but to keep things simple, I’ve used data is from a 2020 study on Local Pack click-through-rates by position on Google. You can replace this what other CTR data if you prefer.
    • It’s even better if you use the real CTR from Google Search Console but this takes more work and you’d have to be using UTM codes in your GMB listing.
  • Potential Clicks
    • This will auto-populate if you filled in Keyword, Keyword Volume and Desired Rank.
  • Conversion Rate
    • Add the current conversion rate here. You can find this in Google Analytics if you have set up goal / conversion tracking.
  • Potential Conversions
    • This will auto-populate if you filled in a Conversion Rate.
